Would it be possible to add the option to end the bingo game when somebody wins a full house. The current options are call all squares or after a certain number of bingo’s.
Hi @AquariumDaily, thanks for posting! While Crowdpurr Bingo does not have a way to automatically end a game upon a player receiving a “blackout” or “full house,” this format may be possible to implement manually by monitoring the Rankings tab on the Experience Dashboard during a live game to watch if a player has marked 24 Bingo Squares on their card as this would indicate the player has marked all squares on their specific Bingo Card.
Additionally, the screenshot below illustrates a player who has marked 24 squares on their card:
Once a player has reached 24 squares marked on their card, you can then choose to manually end the game and award the player(s) bonus points for achieving a “blackout” or other prizes.
Just wanted to update this thread that our latest update 4.9.0 allows the Full Card bingo pattern to be enabled (in addition to seven other fun patterns) and you can also enable the new Auto-Finish Bingo Game setting and set it to finish the bingo game after the first bingo is earned.
This will achieve the above request of “ending the bingo game on a full house.”
Thank you for the recent updates as they are going to make Bingo more fun and exciting. I do look forward to seeing what the next update brings. However there is a problem with the end bingo on for example 12 bingos which would be a game ending on a full house with diagonal, row and column selected. When adding up the bingos Crowdpurr adds everybodys bingos up and not individuals, so it will end the game once there is a total of 12 bingos for everybody. To end the game correctly it should end when an individual gets 12 bingos. I have attached an image to show what I mean. Also just a note on the presentation screen, it is showing the words ‘Scan to join’ when the QR code is turned off being displayed
.
Indeed, the Auto-Finish Bingo Game setting After X Bingo(s) Earned is a setting across all players. Perhaps we need an additional setting if it’s per-player or cumulative, as I could see hosts wanting it both ways.
For your use-case, instead of having Rows, Columns, and Diagonals enabled for 12 bingos (i.e. a “Full House”), why would you not just use only the Full Card bingo pattern and then have the game set to After 1 Bingo(s) Earned? Then it’s the first player who fills their entire card. That’s what you’re going for with Rows, Columns, and Diagonals all enabled right?
Also, thanks for reporting the Presentation View bug. It is now fixed.
Thank you for getting back to me Ross. In the old bingo game my players recieved points for each bingo they recieved and the points were added to their total score.
In a real life game of bingo once a player gains for example a bingo they would call out and the game would be paused and once the card is then verified the game would continue to the next bingo or full house.
For example the first bingo would be a line, column, diagonal.
The second bingo could be all four corners etc before moving on to a full house.
I appreciate bingo is played in many different variations around the globe. Here in the UK we play bingo with numbers up to 90 and not the 75 as in the UK
We have been playing bingo for over 12 months and my players from around the world are used to the scoring of getting points for each bingo they recieve, whilst aiming for a full house. What you are suggesting is that they no longer recieve points for each bingo but only for the full house.
How I had interpretated it was that you could set any of the bingos and that the system would eventually end when a full house was reached. As with different settings the number of bingos can vary. With all bingo setting s set I think the total bingos is 17. Four corners and full house the total would be two and this is what I thought you were meaning by changing the number of bingos earned on the setting under the bingo settings tab.
Giving the choice of either indiviual or group on the bingos earned settings should over come this problem, thank you.
Thanks for the details, that all makes sense.
We’ll be adding an automatic “progressive” setting where it will only allow X bingo(s) per bingo pattern (e.g. one row, one column, one diagonal, then full house, etc.) In this event, it would be a cumulative setting across all players, not per-player. Though it would likely always be set to 1 so it doesn’t really matter (e.g. you usually just want to allow a single bingo on a pattern before moving on to the next one).
Currently, you can manually achieve this by updating the active pattern(s) in real-time as your game progresses. You would just need to monitor the bingo counts either in the Quick Stats or the Rankings tab to know when to update the bingo patterns. We’re going to make it easier to see earned bingos in the future as well.
But yes, an automatic progressive version of the patterns advancing on their own would be ideal.
