Already using it…it’s outstanding!
Thanks Ross!!
Now that Crowdpurr for Teams is in the wild and you’ve hopefully been able to try it out, we’d like your opinion on a few items.
There’s some debate over how much access a RUN team member should have in order to successfully run a trivia game, poll, etc. NOTE: Please see our Help Center article for details on the various permissions.
Team members with the RUN permission must have some permission to perform essential updates to the experience, these include:
- Updating the Active Question
- Starting, stopping, pausing, restarting, etc. the experience
- Reviewing, rejecting, editing incoming text-answer responses to questions
- And several more like this
The question is… beyond the above, what else do you feel a RUN team member should be able to do? For example, one long-term Crowdpurr user emailed us that RUN team members needed the ability to edit the Advanced Teams list. As there are trivia events where teams register with the host before the game at the venue and the host (the RUN team member) would need to edit these in order to run the game. So we added this in our latest update (4.5.7).
Our team debated quite a bit on if RUN team members needed access to the following:
- The VIP Guest List - editing members, removing members, changing the type, etc.
- VIP Guest List Notifications - creating, editing, and sending notifications.
Can your RUN team member effectively run an experience without being able to add to its VIP Guest List or VIP Guest List Notifications? Or would you prefer that as the team owner, you set these up ahead of time, and the RUN team member can only effectively send a VIP Guest List notification? Or do you feel if the team member needs to edit things like this they should just be made an EDIT team member and then they can edit these (but also edit everything else).
Just curious about your input on the above and anything else you feel RUN team members should have access to.
We’re still working on Crowdpurr for Teams and will likely do a public “launch” next week as we feel we’re almost there with the open beta.
Hi Ross,
I think the level of permissions under RUN is perfect for now.
Thanks for allowing the addition of advanced teams!
