[SOLVED] Delay in presentation and slow log in time

So I have used Crowdpurr for corporate events for a few years. I am a couple months into using this format on a weekly basis. Tonight, I had two tv’s on an HDMI splitter as I always do. Same laptop, same wifi. However, Crowdpurr took a few minutes to logon (usually it is immediate) and the delay from the laptop to the screens was up to 5 seconds (killed the vibe in the room). The timers were not in sync and it did not correct after reloading the game. Has anyone had this issue? Everything has been perfect to this point. I am just looking for advice in case you found a way to deal with this. I checked the laptop, splitter, and every cable when I got home and all is fine. It was just at the venue. While at the venue, I tried other internet sites and loading from a thumbdrive and everything seemed normal. Does Crowdpurr have occasional server issues? I am not disappointed, just wanting to discuss.

Anytime I have seen anything like this it is all to do it the WIFI. WIFI can change at anytime. Sounds like all your equipment is working fine, just the WIFI was lagging that time, and if its still continuing to happen, I would have the place check what is going on.

My thoughts as well. The old “power point plus pen and paper” never did this, but people really like this Crowdpurr format. I wish more businesses would invest their multi-media capabilities. Many of the buildings I work in are such that a wifi hotspot is not an option, so I have to rely on their wifi. I can’t do much about it as there is always someone who is willing to take the gig with the old pen and paper. I was disappointed and really looking to see if anyone else had this issue. I appreciate the reply!

I agree I love Crowd Purrs format and been using it for 5 plus years. I’m not a fan pen and paper. I look at it more work and more cheating. I have also seen some other computer based software that I learned how to cheat in a few mins. I am not a fan of cheating. The time based is good and keeps things with a great flow.

HI @exit28entertainment, thanks for posting about. Sorry you experienced some issues.

When exactly did this occur - like be specific with date, time, and timezone. And we’ll review the server back-end and logs and see if we see anything that slowed down.

Thursday, Oct. 1st. 2026. Time - 6:30pm until 8;30pm CST.

Crowdpurr took a couple minutes to log on. There was a consistent 3 - 5 second delay between the laptop and the venue tv’s. One tv was hardwired hdmi the other on a wireless hdmi.

Usually, the logon is immediate and once in a while I experience a little latency…maybe a second or two. Thursday’s latency was noticeable. I shut down and rebooted twice, but the problem persisted.

I went back to the venue on Saturday morning and set up…all worked perfectly.

I reviewed our back-end server stats and, in general, I don’t see a system wide slow-down during that time.

But, I do see one function that caused multiple 30s to 60s delays on the server, that happened right around the time you were using the app. If you were connected to this server (and there’s a good chance you were), your service may have been disrupted and made to “wait” while this function completed.

So yes, there’s likely a bug here that I’ll make a ticket for and we’ll get it shored up. But, it’s not something that will affect you in general. You just happened to be the user in line behind that slow function.

Thanks for reporting. I’ll confirm back here when that issue is fixed.
