Hi, is there a way to turn off the ability of the participants to go to “My Profile” and see all the questions and answers they submitted and then download it via “export all data”? This is very important for game integrity. The “Participant Response Data” section should also be hidden.
Unfortunately there is not a current way to disable a participant reviewing their responses in the My Profile section of the Participant View.
This feature allows all participants to always have the ability to review what data they have sent the application per European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidelines. And also to remove that data, though the removal feature can be disabled on the Experience Dashboard. But not the ability to review it.
How does allowing a player to review their responses affect game integrity?
I understand that the European Union has laws like GDPR, but I operate in the United States. I agree that it’s good for participants to be able to access the personal information they submitted, but can’t there be a separate option for Americans to protect at least the trivia questions we put time and effort into writing from being so easily downloaded and disseminated?
This feature has been used by a competitor to easily steal questions to use in their own trivia games and also by participants who travel to different locations that are using the same questions at different times. Our trivia nights are being targeted because we use Crowdpurr and it is so easy and quick to gain access to our questions and answers versus other trivia companies.
We sincerely appreciate you sharing your feedback regarding content protection and highlighting the specific ways this may be impacting your trivia events. At this time, we’ve forwarded this feedback to our Development Team for review and consideration.
As always, we welcome any feedback you can provide as we’re always listening to user feedback like yours.
Copy that. Well, we’re not ignoring you on this. But it’s not something on our immediate roadmap to add. We’ll discuss this issue internally and report back on what our plan is.
I appreciate the response, but I’m not looking for a feature to be added, but for the option of having an existing feature muted or turned off. There are many different ways that this issue can be remedied. One is to not include the questions and answers to the actual trivia questions as part of the viewable/downloadable data. This would be the easiest and quickest way and would not violate any protections in any country because they are not personal answers just user submitted answers to the game. A second option is to allow Americans to turn off the viewable/downloadable option altogether because this does not violate our laws.
At this point I am locked into a Conference-level yearly contract with Crowdpurr and I have been having to use alternative software for the past month. I’m wondering how long it will take for this relatively simple fix.
