Lose Decreasing Points When No Answer Submitted?

What is the result of a player not answering a question with Lose Decreasing Points enabled?

Hi @huntstreet. The way Crowdpurr is designed, when a player doesn’t answer, the question is marked as incorrect however they do not lose any points, no matter what setting is used. The same applies for points wager questions too.

This is a topic that has several threads on the forum discussing it. It’s due to how Crowdpurr is designed under-the-hood. It’s something we want to update, so that not answering indeed causes players to lose points, but we don’t have a timeline for when that will be released. Currently, a player must actually answer incorrect to lose points either with the Lose Points… settings or a Points Wager question.

But we appreciate you mentioning it. The more that mention it, the higher our team will prioritize it.

Thanks for the update @RossN. I have had situations where a players has left the game or not answered questions once they reach a certain score. They have then gone on to win, which does seem unfair for the players that have completed the trivia game. I agree that losing points on not answering would make the game fairier. The same would go for if a player gambles but then doesnt answer the question. In this case if the player gambles and then doesnt know the answer then by not answering they do not lose points, which is unfair.

Yes, I agree. This behavior is something we are working on fixing.
