Our trivia shows include a multiple choice “final bonus” question. We recently moved our platform to CP, and have hosted around 30 shows in our first 2 weeks. Noticing that at almost every one of our shows, at least one (and usual multiple) teams get “stuck” on the wager/bet page. When it automatically transitions to the wager question, those teams are stuck on the wager/bet page and cannot see the question. Even after refreshing their pages, they continue to be stuck on the wager/bet page. Our hosts have to take their bet AND answer, which is incredibly clunky.
Thanks for reporting this. We will look into this ASAP.
Did you say that you have Automatically Start Question disabled and Hide Answers Before Question Starts enabled?
Hey Ross - that’s correct!
Just wanted to update that this issue has been solved and published in our latest update.
There was indeed an issue on the Participant View when a trivia game has Automatically Start Question disabled. In this configuration, the Points Wager screen was incorrectly always waiting for the points wager timer to expire in order to advance to the question, not when the Manually Start Question (S) button was clicked.
The player could get “stuck” if they refreshed their browser while still on the Points Wager screen, as this will, incorrectly, reset the Point Wager timer over from the beginning. This can cause the Points Wager timer to not be expired when the question is actually manually started by the host.
The error has been corrected and now, in the above configuration, the Points Wager screen will always close when Manually Start Question (S) is clicked.
We wanted to get this bug fixed ASAP, but in the next version we’ll be adding some additional logic that prevents players from refreshing and entering a new points wager.
Thanks for the detailed bug report on this!
We just published another update that adds a few new fixes for points wagering. Now, for points wagering:
- If a player refreshes their browser after locking in their points wager, that points wager is restored and cannot be changed.
- Upon refreshing their browser, the points wager timer now correctly restores to the remaining time to enter a points wager.
- If the player doesn’t lock in their points wager and refreshes, they may still enter a different points wager value. Players can modify their points wager as much as they want prior to locking it in. When the points wager timer expires, it will use whatever value is entered into the input (which defaults to half the player’s total points) as the player’s points wager.
