Completely new to Crowdpurr. We love the features and ease of use. I have been looking at settings and setup for this question but have not found an answer. We want to have multiple Rounds, Bonus question at the end of the rounds. The problem is the scores earned do not go to the Next Round. Here are the steps:
Create Experience: Round 1
Create Experience: Round 1 Bonus
Create Experience: Round 2 (I only get 3 experiences until we subscribe)
On the Settings > Trivia Format tab for both rounds, I have the the checkbox on for each others rounds (Round 1 has Round 1 Bonus checked; Round 1 Bonus has Round 1 checked)
Round 1 is setup to have Round 1 Bonus as the Next Round. Round 1 Bonus has Round 2 as the Next Round. The problem I am encountering is when I click Go to Next Round, it takes me there. However, the scores are not transferred.
Any guidance is appreciated. In the meantime, I will continue to look at Settings to see if I have missed something.
Make sure ALL of the boxes for all of the rounds you want in the total are selected. So, if you want a final total of Round 1, Round 1 Bonus, and Round 2… each round should have the other two rounds selected in the Settings>Trivia Format>Multi-Game Rankings.
Then, when you want to show the TOTAL score, you would use the Show Multi-Game rankings button. If you Select the Show Rankings Leaderboard button, it will only show the score for the current round.
Thank you. This will show the cumulative scores for each of the rounds. The issue I am having is if the Round 1 Bonus is a separate experience, I don’t have any way of using the cumulative score to wager in the other experience.
I did a test by creating 1 experience with 4 questions. The first 3 questions are multiple choice. Question 4 is a wager question. This allows the player to set their wager. However, if the wager is in a different experience, I cannot get the wager to accept any input. The Show Multiple Game Rankings will show where people stand, but it doesn’t allow wagering of points earned in another experience.
That is correct. Wagering does not allow points to be wagered across rounds. It has been mentioned as a suggestion but it has not been implemented.
I’ve found, as a way around this, that it’s just as easy to keep everything in “one round”, unless you need to specifically award prizes “per round”.
For example, create an experience with 35 questions and then either hide the question numbers (the dashboard always shows YOU as the host the question number) or just physically put the question numbers in front of your questions. (I always import questions via CSV so this would make this a little easier)
Then, just do the 10 questions, announce you are at the end of round one. Show the score. Do the bonus questions… show the score. (all points earned can be wagered this way) Then announce the start of Round 2, which on YOUR end is question 14 but the crowd will either not see a question number or they will see the number that you have physically put into the question.
So, you are doing “rounds” without actually creating three separate experiences.
Again, this is just a workaround. I don’t use the point wager feature but I’ve moved to doing “rounds” this way for a couple of different reasons.
Hi @raleighmoose1318 - thanks for using Crowdpurr. I’ll chime in real quick.
Indeed, Points Wagering does not cross between multiple experiences. It was a design decision when we first released the feature. However, we are now going to work on allowing a wager to span multiple trivia rounds.
@dandeibert’s method works good. But, using this method causes you to lose the “per round” scores and leaderboard. You only get the cumulative multi-game score because all the questions are in the same experience/round.
But you have the option to choose which method works the best for you for right now.
