Trivia Game Settings Template?

Forgive a new user, please, if this request has already been suggested - but when I’m tweaking the settings prior to offering a trivia game to my client’s customers, I noticed I need to adjust the same settings before every game I stage/offer. Would anyone else see the benefit in being able to optionally tweak any given settings (i.e., play music on the presentation screen, for example, or only allow multiple choice questions across every game, etc.) just once and have them apply to every game you set up in advance (and/or until you deselect the feature, of course)? It would theoretically reduce the potential for inconsistencies across games I stage/offer during any given event.

Appreciate the consideration…

And after submitting this suggestion, a slew of similar requests for “global” settings popped up on my screen… so I know others would benefit from it. My only remaining question is: was this feature ever implemented and, if so, where can I find it (please)?

Hi @tanewton99,

Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback!

While we don’t currently have a direct way to create a “template” or “global settings” for Crowdpurr Experiences, I’m happy to provide a workaround you may be interested in.

This workaround entails cloning an Experience that has the settings and customizations you would like to use as default settings or as a template for future Experiences. When cloning an Experience, all of its settings get cloned including questions, answers, Experience settings, question images, logos, etc. For instance, if you have a Trivia Game that you’d like to “save” the settings for to use in future games, you can simply clone the Trivia Game to preserve all of its questions, answers, custom branding, and Experience settings.

For more information on how to clone an Experience, please visit the following article:

Cloning an Existing Experience

I saw other responses that echo your suggested work around, but that would technically eat up one of my available “experiences,” yes? With only ten available at any given time (based on my subscription level) that’s risky when I’m conducting a potential three-hour gig. And upgrading my subscription doesn’t make economic sense in my situation.

So no plans to incorporate a global setting kind of solution, I take it?

Thanks, Jemma

Hi @tanewton99, thanks for your response!

Indeed, the suggested workaround would take up an “Experience” slot as it would act as a template Experience. While a global setting template is definitely on our team’s radar, I’m afraid there is not currently a timeframe as to when this type of feature may be released.

In the meantime, we recommend keeping an eye out on the Official Version Updates forum post or blog.crowdpurr.com for any official product updates and feature releases.

@tanewton99 I might add that you can do the above “cloning” work-around without creating a template experience and thus using up an experience slot.

You can simply clone your last experience that has the settings that you want and then start from there. It doesn’t have to be a stand-alone “template” experience per se that is always hanging around and taking up space. Just clone from your last used experience.

As @jemma, while we love this feature idea, and it has been requested by several users, it’s not something that slated for the near future unfortunately. Though we have many other awesome features on the way.

I would love to have a general global settings on the way I like things, I do like the idea of doing the general clone for the Trivia. However when you do Bingo I will not be able to clone it as each game I need to still setup with settings.

My workaround: Once I figured out all of the settings I wanted to incorporate, I opted to take simple screen shots of each of my settings pages and save them in a folder to refer to in setting up my entire event. While this trick won’t eliminate the need to tweak settings manually for every event going forward, it will help me to remember my preferences so I can quickly get through the setup process.

This (Cloning) would be most excellent if there were then a way to remove all the prior questions with one click before adding the new ones.
(Or is that already possible and I’m just not seeing it? :face_with_monocle:)

Hi @huntstreet, thanks for posting! Great question.

If you would like to remove questions in bulk, you can navigate to the navy blue Summary tab to pull up the Questions Overview list and select all of the questions you’d like to remove from your Experience. Next, click on the blue Bulk Actions button and select the Remove Questions option from the dropdown selection to remove the multiple questions, as displayed below.

Please note, both Trivia Games and Polls do require you to have at least one single question within the Experience so you can remove all but one question from this tab.

Hopefully this helps!
